At a buzzing Stadio Giuseppe Meazza on Saturday, Inter swept aside Cremonese 4-1 in a performance that asserted their championship ambitions and delivered a fifth straight victory in all competitions. From the opening whistle, Inter overwhelmed their visitors, combining relentless possession with clinical attacking play and a parade of standout individual performances.

Inter wasted no time stamping their authority. In the sixth minute, Lautaro Martínez linked with debutant Ange-Yoan Bonny to carve open Cremonese’s defense, slotting in the opener with composure and setting the tone for an afternoon dominated by the home side. Bonny, lively and inventive throughout, was central to Inter’s attacking rhythm, providing assists on multiple goals and capping his full debut with a strike of his own. His 38th-minute goal, after a sharp exchange with Federico Dimarco, doubled the advantage and left Cremonese chasing shadows.

The pattern continued into the second half. Dimarco’s trademark finish in the 55th minute, assisted by Bonny, showcased Inter’s ability to attack from wide positions and was rewarded again just two minutes later, as Nicolò Barella swept home a fourth with Bonny again the provider. By this stage, Inter’s dominance—recording 66% possession and firing 27 shots, nine on target—was reflected both on the scoreboard and in the stands.

Cremonese struggled to gain any foothold, registering only three shots all game and managing a single corner. Their lone highlight came late: substitute Federico Bonazzoli netted a consolation in the 87th minute after a rare lapse at the back, assisted by J. Vandeputte.

Inter’s midfield trio—Barella, Frattesi, and Mkhitaryan—dictated tempo, providing a platform for the wingbacks and strikers to thrive. Defensively, Inter remained largely untested, with Yann Sommer required to make just one save, and the back line marshaled expertly by Alessandro Bastoni and Manuel Akanji.

Both sides received yellow cards late (Pezzella for Cremonese, Sucic for Inter), but by then the contest had long been settled. Tactical substitutions from coaches Cristian Eugen Chivu and Davide Nicola did little to disrupt Inter’s momentum or Cremonese’s struggles to cope.

For Inter, this emphatic win pushes them toward the Serie A summit, level on points with rivals Milan, Napoli, and Roma. Bonny’s explosive debut and Martínez’s continued scoring touch will give Chivu and Nerazzurri fans ample optimism moving forward. Cremonese, meanwhile, will need to regroup after their defensive frailties were exposed, having failed to register a win at San Siro this season.

Inter’s dominance was as complete as their scoreline suggested—an afternoon where their title ambitions gained ever sharper definition in the heart of Milan.
